Its this perspective of the society in which women come clean in image, plus false sense of ego on the part of men, which results in men who live under oppression till the end- this is the silent majority of battered husbands, but they will never come out in the fore since its considered as lack of valour to even think that a man is oppressed. If woman do domestic violence, she is brave and was fighting against torture, if men even defends himself, by resisting her, then it is portrayed as "he was trying to to torture her".
